Exciting Fish Craft for Toddlers – Day 5 of Creation

 In Bible Kids Activities

Day 5 of our creation week was definitely our toddler’s favourite: a fun fish craft for toddlers! Maybe it was her favourite because of the paper cupcake liners, or maybe the googly eyes.

Okay, it think it were the googly eyes as we actually did this activity on day 1 of our creation craft week. We just purchased our craft supplies and she really, really wanted to make the fishies.

Who can resist a cute 2 year old’s face asking to ‘Please, please, can we make the fishies?’

This fish craft is a little similar to the ‘Flower Craft for Toddlers’ as it also uses the paper cupcake liners. Whichever activity you decide to make, they’ll both guarantee a fun way to teach your toddler about creation.

Day 5 – God Created the Fish

‘And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven’ {Genesis 1:20 KJV}

Material:

  • Light blue paper
  • Paper cupcake liners
  • Matching coloured paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Any other decoration (markers, glitter, stickers)

First step: let your toddler add some glue to the back of the paper cupcake liners. Stick them on the blue paper.

While your little one is busy (making a mess) with the glue, you can cut out a matching mouth and tail for the fish.

Your toddler might need some help to place mouth and tail in the right spot. If so, simply glue them into place, underneath the paper cupcake liners.

Then comes the fun part… sticking the googly eyes onto the fish!

If your toddler wants to, they can also decorate the fish a little more with marker pens, stickers, and glitter. My girl just used some marker pens and random stickers (which would have been great if they said God instead of ‘ged’ – Wahaaa!).

Waves made with marker pens can complete this exciting fish craft for toddlers.

Make sure to check out my other creation activities as well. They’re all perfect crafts for toddlers!
