Super Easy Noah’s Ark Craft for Toddlers

 In Bible Kids Activities

After the story of creation and the Garden of Eden, it was now time for a fun and simple Noah’s Ark craft.

Noah’s Ark is a well-loved Bible story. Which toddler doesn’t enjoy hearing about the huge boat that was filled with animals?

This particular activity is day one of our 4 days of Noah’s Ark crafts for toddlers, so make sure to keep an eye out for the others too.

Let’s start with the beginning: the building of the ark!

There are so many beautiful craft ideas out-there to teach your toddler about the ark. I opted for a very easy craft with a minimum of craft supplies.

Looking for an easy Noah's ark craft for toddlers? This is the 1st of our 4 day craft activities teaching your child about God's command to build an ark. #biblecraft #toddlercraft #noahsark #kidscraft #craft #bible

Building Noah’s Ark Craft

‘Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch’ {Genesis 6:14 KJV}

Material:

  • Simple drawing of the ark
  • Coloured paper
  • Pop-sickle sticks
  • Glue

Before you begin, choose a simple drawing of the ark. One without too many distractions around it. I couldn’t really find what I was looking for, so I drew my own. Nothing too fancy, but if you would like it too… download it here (no email necessary).

Then your toddler can add as much glue as they like. The ark needs to be covered, so just let them have some fun! 🙂

Once the paper is sticky with glue, simply place the pop-sickle sticks on their rightful spot. My 3 year old did need a little help with this as she initially placed them too far apart. As soon as she realised they needed to touch, she was fine on her own.

If you wish, you can then cut out the ark and glue it on a coloured piece of paper. We choose brown, but any colour will do. Of course, you can always draw the ark on a coloured paper which will eliminate the need to cut it out later.

If you want, you can also add some water. We decided against it as we’d continue with our story from here on. This meant that the flood hadn’t happened yet.

As I said before, keep an eye out for the other Noah’s ark crafts. We’ll be making some animals for the ark, a flood picture, and (of course) a rainbow.
